It is aimed to contribute to the development of participatory process in practise areas of local administrations in Turkey by bringing together different disciplines working in sustainable urbanisation area. 15 expert speakers from 5 different continents will be presenting best practises covering transportation and mobility of sustainable urbanisation in 4 sessions.
Symposium will start with the opening speeches of EMBARQ Turkey Chairman of Board Canan Ediboğlu and EMBARQ Turkey Director Arzu Tekir. In the first panel “Government of Livable Cities”, recent urban implementations and development plans of three municipalities will be discussed under the moderation of Tayfun Bayazıt – EMBARQ Turkey Board Member. In the following sessions, World Bank Sustainable Development Department Sector Leader, Gehl Architects, Urban Development Expert, EMBARQ India Urban Planning Division Director, EMBARQ Mexico Deputy Director and EMBARQ Urban Development and Accessability Program Director and Health and Road Safety Program Expert, İETT Deputy Director, İTÜ Secretary General, Yard 9 Co-Founder, SÍTI Urban and Territorial Department Innovation Project Manager, Yard 9 Industrial Designer and Mobicar Co-Founder will be discussing trasist oriented development, public space design, road safety, safe access, sustainable development, non-motorized vehicles, smart cities and carpool systems with best practices in Turkey and around the world.
