Having worked as researcher in various universities in U.K., Aksoy returned to Istanbul in 2004 and involved in the establishment of Santral Istanbul Project. Having become a personnel of Istanbul Bilgi University, she began to give lectures on Performance Arts and Culture Management Programs. She is the director of Cultural Policy and Management Research Centre (KPY), which was founded within Istanbul Bilgi University in 2010. KPY conducts projects with European Cultural Foundation –one of the leading civil actors in Europe on cultural policies area- within the framework of deepening the cultural dialogue and relationship among various European-Middle East-Mediterrenean regions. Asu Aksoy gives lectures on Multiculturism and Art; City and Public Art; Globalisation and Culture Industries; Current Discussions on Culture Policies, and manages final projects, master thesis and projects. Aksoy is one of the leaders of the projects called Inventory of Cultural Heritage and Cultural Economy of Istanbul, conducted during 2010 with the support of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Turkish Academy of Sciences. She is also one of the local curators of Istanbul project –one of the study cities of International Architecture Biennale of Rotterdam, held in Netherlands in 2012. In this context, she is dedicated to bring an integral area development scenario and vision to Arnavutköy District tohether with Istanbul Arnavutköy Municipality.
