Sonal Ahuja is the Regional Director for PTV Group for Middle East, North Africa and Indian region. He has over 19 years’ experience in the design and management of Intelligent Transport Infrastructure, ITS, transport planning, modelling and research projects for clients in the EU, Middle East and India. His strategic management responsibilities include business development, team management, client management, financial control, research and development, practical application of transport modeling techniques acoss the Middle East, North Africa and Indian Subcontinent. He is involved in training and development of staff and knowledge transfer of the excellence in transport technology and road safety in several countries. He has extensive experience of work and delivery and managing projects and clients in USA, U.K., UAE, Europe, South Africa, France, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Qatar, Bahrain, China & Hong Kong. He worked on designing and delivering several ITS and Road Safety systems across the world. Sonal coordinate’s delivery excellence in all transport infrastructures for the MENAI region and is responsible for overseas business development in the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian Subcontinent. He has delivered research projects involving traffic simulation, road safety and strategic modeling and transport economics. He developed multi-objective optimization for Traffic Signal Control for Urban networks with a focus on optimizing networks for pedestrian and environmental benefits using Evolutionary Algorithms and Fuzzy Logic. This was his PhD topic at Imperial Collage London.
