Samuel Boamah Danquah is the Road Safety Coordinator for Road Design and Transportation on the Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS), Accra. Before joining BIGRS, he served as a Senior Civil / Transportation Engineer with a Civil Engineering consultancy firm for almost a decade.

He is a Transportation Engineering professional with about 13 years’ experience in project planning, coordination and supervision, transportation planning and modelling etc. He has been involved in several traffic impact assessments and transportation planning for several development project in Ghana.

Samuel earned his Bachelor of Science (BSc.) Degree in Civil Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana in 2005. In 2010, he graduated from the University of Twente (UT), The Netherlands with a Master of Science (MSc.) Degree in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (Urban Planning and Management). He also has certificates in Analytical Transportation Planning from the Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt; and FIDIC’s Young Professionals Management Training Programme.

In 2014, he won the Young Engineer Award by the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) in its maiden Engineering Excellence Awards that awarded Engineers and non-engineers who distinguished themselves in the field of Engineering in Ghana.
