Paul Dixelius is Development Director at SKL International, the international branch of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR). He is an international development generalist, analyst and evaluator with focus on decentralization, local governance and organizational development with more than 17 years of experience as a consultant and project manager, mainly with international focus. Paul has worked with analyses and assessment assignments but also with operational projects largely focusing on supporting decentralization processes and strengthening local governance e.g. through the development of local government associations. Paul has experience from Africa, Asia, the Balkans, former USSR and Latin America. Paul Dixelius is managing SALAR’s and SKL International’s global assignment to foster and develop the SymbioCity approach– a Swedish concept to help improving living conditions in developing countries through sustainable urban development. The project encompasses development of research material and publications, training and capacity building as well as operational pilot projects in cities with the ambition of developing sustainably.
