ENVIRONMENTAL AND POLITICAL SCIENTIST, CHAIRPERSON OF GLOBAL BALANCE ASSOCIATION

The pioneer woman in climate change politics in Turkey. Her career story began when she was graduated from the City and Region Planning Department of METU (Middle East Technical University, honors degree, 1979). She completed her postgraduate (2004) and doctoral studies in the fields of political science and public administration (2007). She served as a civil administrator within the government and held official and permanent positions in international organizations (OECD, EU, United Nations, WB, IDB) in the field of environment and climate change. Her first book entitled “Environmental Politics in TGNA (The Grand National Assembly of Turkey)” was published in 2004. She questioned the European Union’s environment policies from Turkey’s perspective in her second and third books. Her fourth and current book entitled “Climate Change Politics in Turkey” analyzes the bond between the combating climate change and politics with all details, including experiences in Turkey and the rest of the world. She continues making strenuous efforts in order to ensure that every segment of Turkish society plays an active role in the fight against climate change. Her mission is to make sure that policies on environmental issues and fighting climate change secure the place they deserve on Turkey’s political agenda.
