MERVE ERDİL

ECONOMY NEWS REPORTER, HURRIYET

Merve ERDİL, was born in Ankara in 1983. She completed her middle and high school education at Bilkent University Preparatory School (BUPS) in Ankara. She then studied International Politics with a focus on the Middle East at Penn State University. She started journalism as an intern at the daily Hürriyet Newspapers Ankara office. She served as a diplomatic correspondent for a couple of years before focusing on economy.


She has moved to the headquarters of Hürriyet in Istanbul in 2010, and ever since works as the energy editor of the newspaper, concentrating on energy, energy diplomacy, sustainability, finance and climate news. Before her career as a journalist, she has had several internships at institutions such as World Health Organization (WHO), US Commercial Service and NATOs International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan.”
