Korkmaz Gül has received his bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kırıkkale University between the years of 2000-2005 and between the years 2008-2010, his master degree in Mechanical Engineering from Gazi Universtiy (Ankara). He has worked as a Project Engineer at UNTES HVAC Company Inc. Turkey from 2005 to 2008.
Since 2010 he has been working at Energy Efficiency Department as a mechanical engineer. Between the years of 2011-2017, he has involved to the Promoting Energy Efficiency in Building Project as a project coordinator. Project was executed by General Directorate of Renewable Energy (GDRE) of Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. UNDP was the international implementing agency of the project which was financially supported by Global Environment Facility (GEF). The objective of the project was to reduce energy consumption and associated GHG emissions in buildings in Turkey by raising building energy performance standards, improving enforcement of building codes, enhancing building energy management and introducing the use of an integrated building design approach. In addition to these, he has involved several projects such; between the years 2010-2015,
Market Transformation of Energy Efficient Appliances in Turkey Project (UNDP/GEF), in 2010-2017
Improving Energy Efficiency in Industry Project (UNIDO-UNDP/GEF), in 2011-2013,
Supporting Energy Efficiency Monitoring and Verification in Turkey Project (ETKB/YEGM and Netherlands Energy Agency ). On the other hand he has ongoing projects such as; SMEs Energy Efficiency Project ( MoENR, Word Bank) between the years of 2014-2018, Strategic Sector Cooperation Project on Efficient and Low Carbon District Heating and Cooling (MoENR/GDRE and Danish Energy Agency) between 2017-2019, Third Country Energy Management Training Programme) (JICA, TICA ) since 2002. Besides, he took the role as a building energy expert at developing Turkey’s First National Energy Efficiency Action Plan and he is a member of World Energy Council, Turkish National Committee.
