Before his mission in Istanbul, he was working within EU Delegation to Albania, Head of Operation Section for Economic Reform and Infrastructure between 2010 and 2014. Bégeot, was formerly Directorate General for Transport, Policy Officer for the Western Balkans and Turkey between 2005 – 2010 and Directorate General for Enlargement, Member of the EU Negotiation Team for Bulgaria between 2001- 2005. Priorly, he was Country Coordinator for Albania within Directorate General for External Relations between 1996 – 2001 and Demographer at EUROSTAT between 1988 and 1996. He worked also in private sector, as the Regional Director within AZ Promotion Sales and Marketing. Begeot, after finishing Sciences Po Strasbourg in France, got a masters degree in sociology from Université March Bloch in France and a post graduate degree in demography from Université Catholique de Louvain, in Belgium.
