A true global citizen, Mr. Kiviet has lived, studied and worked in over a third of Europe’s capital cities and in some of the biggest metropolis of Middle East, Africa and Asia. That experience deeply influences his work and passion for urban planning and design, pushing the boundaries to find innovative solutions to some of the biggest urban challenges, such as climate change, sustainable mobility, urban regeneration and energy transition. His work covers the full spectrum of urban scales, ranging from metropolitan strategies and city visions to urban district plans and masterplans, up to detailed public realm design and place making.
He holds a MSc in Architecture with honourable mention from Delft Technical University, complemented with an Erasmus programme at Milan Polytechnic University and a postgraduate study at Madrid Polytechnic University. He is a frequent collaborating professor in Master programs and specialized courses at universities and at high schools.
