EDA BEYAZIT İNCE

Associate Professor, Istanbul Technical University

Eda Beyazit Ince is an Associate Professor at the Urban and Regional Planning Department at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and the founding director of IstanbulON Urban Mobility Lab. Eda holds MSc and BSc degrees in Urban and Regional Planning. She was a Visiting Research Associate at Transport Studies Unit, Oxford University (2013–2017) where she also received her PhD in Transport and Inequalities (2013). Eda specialises in urban mobilities, especially in the ways in which transport infrastructure investments generate socio-spatial inequalities at different scales with regard to the issues of power, planning and politics. Her recent research projects include investigation of the daily travel experiences of female domestic workers in Istanbul and the spatial hierarchical organisation of disaster preparedness in Thrace, funded by the Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). She is one of the collaborators of the UNESCO Chair in Gender, the General Assembly of Partners Habitat III, and a core group member of the COST Action on the Wider Impacts and Scenario Evaluation of Autonomous and Connected Transport.
