Lara opened and headed the new office of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Ankara. She spent the last three years in London representing the EIB at the Executive Board of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). She works for the EIB since 2006 where she has appraised road and rail projects benefitting of EIB lending in several countries around the world. Prior to the EIB, Lara has gained experience in the Central European Initiative (CEI), a regional organisation supporting candidate countries in Central and Eastern Europe in their path to the EU Accession. She graduated as Civil Engineer with a specialization in transport from Trieste University in Italy. She holds a PhD in Intelligent Transport System applied to Public Transport for which she spent time at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston (USA). She has recently completed an Executive MBA at the London Business School.
