DR. FEYZULLAH GÜNDOĞDU

SENIOR ADVISOR & HEAD OF EURASIA, UITP

Dr. Feyzullah Gündoğdu was born in 1970. He received his master’s degree in Physics in 1998 after graduated from the Physics-Electronics Engineering program. In 2021, he completed his PhD in Business Administration with the thesis “The Effects of Institutionalization of Informal Transportation System on Stakeholder Satisfaction”.

He worked as an optical-communication engineer in the R&D department of the defense sector for a year. He completed two military projects in this field.

In 1999, he joined Metro İstanbul Inc. and worked in different positions such as signaling engineer, maintenance planning, software development engineer and risk management for six years.

In 2005, he started to work in Kayseri Rail Systems Project as the chief engineer in charge of signaling and telecommunication systems, rolling stock and RAMS activities. During this period, he worked as a RAMS and EMC Manager in Marmara Marmaray railway project.

In 2008, he started to work at Kayseri Transportation Inc. as Fix Facilities Manager. He was responsible for the line, power system-overhead line catenary system and electrical and electronic systems.

Dr. Gündoğdu, as a construction manager, worked on the 2nd and 3rd phase projects of Light Rail System construction in Kayseri, including all civil and electromechanical works of 17 kilometers double line.

In 2014, he became the General Manager of Kayseri Transportation Inc. He took over the management of the public transportation system including HRS, Bus, Bicycle Sharing, Electronic Toll collection System, 35 km double LRT line, 69 LRT vehicles, 450.000 passengers per day, 620 buses with 1200 personnel.

Between 2015-2019, he was a member of UITP’s policy and executive board. Between 2019-2021, he served as the chairman of the UITP Individual Transportation working group and member of the presidential committee. He served as the president of TÜRSİD, the Association of Rail System Operators in Türkiye. He held the position of Vice President of ARUS, which is the cluster for Anatolian Rail Transportation Systems.

He is a member of the High Advisory Board of Kayseri Chamber of Industry, Vice Chairman of Kayseri Branch of Turkish Quality Association and Advisory Board Member of Istanbul Technical University Railway Safety Application and Research Center.

In 2022, Dr. Gündoğdu joined the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), headquartered in Brussels and currently serves as Senior Advisor and Head of Eurasia of the UITP Academy.
