Cem Ocak graduated from Bilkent University’s Economics undergraduate program in 2009. After graduation, he completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Sabancı University in 2011. In the same year, he started to work as a mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisor at the Deloitte Istanbul office. After his two-year tenure, he joined Yapı Kredi Invest / UniCredit and advised leading Turkish companies and financial institutions on their initial public offerings, local and international bond issuances, sukuk issuances, and securitizations. Cem Ocak later moved to the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) as an investment banking manager, where he worked on syndicated loans of banks and public institutions and on the M&A transactions of foreign investors in Türkiye. In 2020, Cem Ocak joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and has been working on the financing of critical city infrastructures such as urban transportation, waste management, renewable energy, and drinking water. In addition to financing activities, Cem is actively involved in the development of legislation and cooperation with local and national authorities and non-governmental organizations.
