Aynur Şule Sümer was born in 1965 in Ankara. She completed her undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of City and Regional Planning at Middle East Technical University in 1987 and the Disaster and Emergency Management Graduate Program at Istanbul Technical University between 2002 and 2003. She started her career in 1991 as a research assistant at Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of City and Regional Planning.
As the Climate Change and Zero Waste Manager, Aynur Şule Sümer continues to work on mitigation and adaptation studies under the heading of combating climate change, waste-free life management in local governments, green building and campus criteria, social environment, raising awareness of combating disaster and climate change, and volunteering system in disasters.
