Hale Erez Külekçi completed her undergraduate degree at Istanbul Technical University, Department of City and Regional Planning, and received her master’s degree from the same university in 2003. She started her career in 2001 at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Planning Directorate. In the Transportation Planning Directorate, she took part in the rail system route planning, the evaluation of the transportation effects of land use decisions, and the study, planning and project studies of the transfer centers. She has been working as Pedestrian Accessibility Chief in the IMM Transportation Planning Directorate since 2020 and received her Doctorate from Istanbul Technical University in 2022 with her doctoral thesis titled “A Method Proposal for a Method to Measure GIS-Based Walkability Performance in Access to Social Reinforcement Areas”.
