Dr. Hayri Baraçlı graduated from Yıldız Technical University (Istanbul) Industrial Engineering Department in 1989. He received his master’s and doctoral degrees at the same university. Dr. Baraçlı started his academic life as a research assistant in 1990. Since then, he has been giving lectures, including a 10 year-experience of teaching in Air Force Academy.
Dr. Baraçlı has served as management consultant at public and private sectors. He has completed many academic and professional studies on business administration, re-structuring, strategic management and planning, holistic quality management, human resources management, feasibility of investments and efficiency management. He was appointed as General Manager of IETT (Public Transportation Authority of Istanbul) in 2009. Since May 2014, he has been serving as Secretary General of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
Dr. Baraçlı, who defines innovation and change as his private and professional life’s motto, has given seminars and conferences and presented proceedings nationally and internationally on industrial engineering, operations research, management and organization, change management, financial management, entrepreneurship and public transportation.
Dr. Baraçlı’s first book about financial management at corporate companies, which was published in 2011, precedes his second book Yönetimde 40 Dörtler, which was published in June 2014.
